4 Days mount meru trek
Day 0: Arrival in Moshi
- Arrive in Moshi, Tanzania, a vibrant town located near Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Meet with Mr Andrew or Our representative for a briefing and equipment check.
- Spend the day resting, exploring Moshi, and preparing for your trek.
- Overnight stay in a hotel or lodge in Moshi.
Day 1: Moshi to Momella Gate, Miriakamba Hut
- After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park.
- Register at the Momella Gate and begin your trekking adventure.
- Trek through lush montane forest with opportunities for wildlife sightings including colobus monkeys and various bird species.
- Arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) for lunch.
- Afternoon hike to the nearby Maio Falls or Little Meru for acclimatization.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Miriakamba Hut.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut
- After breakfast, continue trekking through heath and moorland zones.
- Ascend steep sections with breathtaking views of the Meru crater and surrounding landscape.
- Arrive at Saddle Hut (3,570 meters) for lunch.
- Afternoon optional hike to the summit of Little Meru for acclimatization.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Saddle Hut.
Day 3: Saddle Hut to Socialist Peak (Summit) to Miriakamba Hut
- Wake up early, around midnight, for the summit attempt.
- Begin the steep ascent to Socialist Peak (4,562 meters), the highest point on Mount Meru.
- Reach the summit in time for sunrise, witnessing breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
- Take photos, celebrate your achievement, and then begin the descent back to Saddle Hut.
- Have breakfast at Saddle Hut and then continue descending to Miriakamba Hut.
- Arrive at Miriakamba Hut in the late afternoon and rest for the evening.
Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate to Arusha
- Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Miriakamba Hut.
- Descend through the montane forest, taking in the sights and sounds of the natural surroundings.
- Reach Momella Gate, where you will sign out and receive your summit certificate.
- Meet your transport and return to Arusha.
- Celebrate your successful Mount Meru trek with a hearty meal and some relaxation in Arusha.
