3 Days mount meru

Day 0: Arrival in Moshi

  • Arrive in Moshi, Tanzania, a vibrant town located near Mount Kilimanjaro.
  • Meet with Mr Andrew or Our representative for a briefing and equipment check.
  • Spend the day resting, exploring Moshi, and preparing for your trek.
  • Overnight stay in a hotel or lodge in Moshi.

Day 1: Moshi to Momella Gate, Miriakamba Hut

  • After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park.
  • Register at the Momella Gate and begin your trekking adventure.
  • Trek through lush montane forest with opportunities for wildlife sightings including colobus monkeys and various bird species.
  • Arrive at Miriakamba Hut (2,514 meters) for lunch.
  • Afternoon hike to the nearby Maio Falls or Little Meru for acclimatization.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Miriakamba Hut.

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut

  • After breakfast, continue trekking through heath and moorland zones.
  • Ascend steep sections with breathtaking views of the Meru crater and surrounding landscape.
  • Arrive at Saddle Hut (3,570 meters) for lunch.
  • Afternoon optional hike to the summit of Little Meru for acclimatization.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Saddle Hut.

Day 3: Saddle Hut to Summit, Descend to Momella Gate, Return to Arusha

  • Wake up in the early hours for a summit attempt.
  • Begin the ascent to the summit of Mount Meru (4,566 meters) under the starry sky.
  • Reach the summit in time to witness the sunrise over Kilimanjaro and the surrounding plains.
  • Take in the incredible views before descending back to Saddle Hut for breakfast.
  • Descend further to Momella Gate, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way.
  • Complete the trek at Momella Gate where you’ll meet your transfer vehicle.
  • Drive back to Arusha and celebrate your accomplishment with a hearty meal and restful night at your hotel.
