Climbing Kilimanjaro (Marangu route) - June 2018
Had an absolutely amazing experience with Pace Maker Adventures! Got their contact information from a friend who had reached the summit with Andrew a few years ago. I contacted Andrew about 2 days before heading to the mountain. We met up and went to an outfitter to have all of my equipment selected. He took very good care of me and provided very good advice. On the mountain the daily itinerary made complete sense. He was very accommodating with any requests including hiking a bit higher on acclimatization day so that I could test my limits. He brought snacks for summit day to ensure I had energy. Every bit of advice he gave me came true so (eg. telling me to put on sunscreen which I didn't so I got burned or telling me to put on sunglasses which I didn't so my eyes were painful at the end of the day lol) so listen to Andrew! He has been on the mountain for 12 years and knows exactly what he is talking about. It was just Andrew and I for the entire hike as I didn't go with a group. He was great company and joined me for all meals. His English is outstanding and he has great knowledge of North American culture and knowledge from all around the world due to his interactions with many other international groups. He has a ton of knowledge working with larger groups as well and knows tons of chants when going up the mountain to keep the energy high. Would definitely recommend Pace Maker Adventures to anyone regardless of their fitness level or experience with mountaineering. Andrew observes your conditioning on the mountain and sets a realistic pace accordingly. Many other guides walk behind their clients and so the clients feel the need to push themselves to get up the mountain fast. This leads to early fatigue and little success getting to the summit. Andrew will walk in front of you providing a realistic pace so you will not tire out ensuring greater success to reach the summit. This man has it down to a science. Climbing Kilimanjaro with Pace Maker Adventures
My trip was booked with 48 hours to go & I had no equipment what so ever as I'd no intention of climbing the mountain. I was in Tanzania with time to spare and a chance facebook conversation ended in a bet I couldn't climb Kilimanjaro. After a brief conversation with Pacemaker a price was agreed, Andrew found the warm weather gear & off I went. The hotel prior & post the climb was excellent and everything slotted into place. My guide Attley was very helpful & funny, the food wasn't that bad considering the location & overall a cracking trip. Andrew met me after the trip and even spent the following day showing me around Moshi which was above & beyond his remit. He's a lovely engaging guy who never seems to panic! Pole pole as they say! "Amazing trip with Pace Maker Adventures"
After months of research we chose PACE MAKER ADVENTURES for the Kilimanjaro trip. We are very happy with our choice on all aspects. Pace Maker Adventures is a 100% Tanzanian organization, taking very good care of all aspects of the customer experience. The Kilimanjaro trip (8 days Lemoshe route) was fantastic. Our guide (Oscar) led us and the team in a most professional way. Taking care of everything: health, food, clothing, and also ensuring we enjoyed ourselves. Most memorable was the last few hours to the top, around sunrise, while our summit porter (ngedule) and our two guides (Oscar and Abubakar) where singing in such a strong voice, and we forgot we were out of breath ourselves. Actually be for climbed we were so thinking of how are we going to make it to the top because we did no exercise for prepare our-self but Pace maker adventures are the true pace setters, thank you very much Andrew, i will make sure i recommend you guys to all my Tanzanian friends and around the world.

Amazing Kilimanjaro experience!
Andrew is a highly professional and experienced guide if you are planning to climb the Kilimanjaro. Me and my father had an amazing experience with Andrew as he guided us up the Kili in July. Andrew pays attention to the details, from a critical luggage pre-inspection to the required pace for climbing the Kili and his interest in the people he is climbing with. As a group took us over on our last climb to the top, me and my father wanted to speed up as well, but Andrew slowed us down. An hour later we took over the same group that had taken us over earlier: they were totally exhausted... that's when his knowledge and experience are of great importance. Great Tours!
Guided by Pace Maker Adventures we did two tracks: Mnt. Kilimanjaro (7 days) and Safari (Park Tanrangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, together 5 days). Andrew is very motivated and gives you his best service. He aranged two perfect tracks for us wich were guided by friendly/professional guides speeking sufficient English. The food is great and Andrew makes sure you feel welcome and you will go home with a great experience. Book a trip with Pace Maker Adventure if you are looking for a great time and a good value deal! ps. Couldn't have done Kilimanjaro without Andrew and company!
Andrew and company helped me and my girlfriend climb Mt. Kilimanjaro several years ago and we honestly couldn't have done it without him. We did the 7 day climb on the Lemosho route. Andrew is charming, entertaining, considerate, encouraging, and above all, extremely hard working. He always made sure that we were comfortable and feeling well. You could tell that he really cared about not only our experience on the mountain but also our well being. He was flexible with planning and his number one priority was for us to summit safely and comfortably. Not only are him and his team well prepared to help us to the top of the mountain but they made sure we were having fun too. We have countless unforgettable memories on Kilimanjaro with Andrew and his team - from endless card games of "President", to jamming to music at camp, to taking hilarious pictures atop of the Barranco wall. Kilimanjaro climb
